charityBay is an online platform that converts unwanted items into charity donations.

89% of Australians have unwanted items in their homes which are often thrown out. charityBay is an easy and accessible online marketplace that converts items and services into charity donations, helping the environmentally-conscious to prevent their previously loved belongings ending up in landfill. 95% of all proceeds are directed to the charityBay user’s charity of choice. This innovative application has been designed to reduce waste whilst directing funds to charity.

Team Bios

Haidar Al-fallouji

Founder & CEO

Haidar is a successful entrepreneur with a background in logistics, freight and technology. He has lived in five countries and speaks four languages. His expertise lies in online marketplaces, auctions and IT. The skills developed in these areas have allowed him to build both the charityBay website and mobile app. He has also developed the entire ecosystem for charityBay which includes accounting, eDMs and support ticketing. He is passionate about innovation and technology and aims to reduce inequality and environmental problems in these areas.

Mateo Palacio Gomez

Co-founder & Director

Mateo Palacio is the Co-founder and Business Director of charityBay. He is an economist with international education in social entrepreneurship, innovation, business and finance.

Mateo has lived in Germany and Colombia and is the founder of La Tricolor Events, one of Australia's top Latin culture events. He is a former sales and investment manager for numerous international investment and services corporations.
