Speckles is the first all-in-one online platform housing innovative and affordable products as well as information and support for parents and their children with vision needs. Spackes has created adjustable glasses that are designed to grow with a child’s face and be hard for them to damage as well as colourful eye patches.
Speckles is ultimately improving the accessibility of reliable information and affordable, quality eye care products for parents of children with vision needs, as well as raising awareness of the importance of early intervention in child vision impairment.
Maddy is a passionate orthoptist who has worked in the ophthalmic field for over 10 years. She has worked in private eye clinics and medical device sales, where she helped launch and educate surgeons on some of the top innovations in the ophthalmic space with some of the world's leading brands.
She completed her Bachelor of Health Science and Masters in Orthoptics at Sydney University in 2012. Whilst working, she found her passion for paediatric ophthalmology and the place she felt she could make the most difference to her patient’s lives. Seeing a gap in the market led her to make a change and start developing Speckles.
