Founded by Mel Liu and Duncan Anderson, OwlTail seeks to improve the podcast listening experience by bringing curated podcast recommendations to consumers.
The team joined the Accelerator program in 2018, having recently launched their Owltail website which was quickly gaining strong traction and launching their mobile app into beta testing which had attracted a lot of excitement amongst those in the know. The startup had been spawned after the founding team recognised that the current podcasting experience had failed to embrace the role of recommendations in the user experience, and set about finding a solution.
Along the journey they’ve also secured a family and friends pre-seed round of ~300k and are set for a huge 2019.
Duncan Anderson is the founder of both OwlTail and Edrolo, a company he has helped grow from an idea to 80+ people, and includes VC backing with Blackbird and Airtree their major investors. He studied Engineering & Commerce at the University of Melbourne.
