Swetha is a dual qualified lawyer (licensed to practice in India and Australia) with a background in law and business. Prior to founding Dark Patterns Lab, she was a researcher at the Centre for AI and Digital Ethics at the University of Melbourne, where she also earned a Master of Commercial Law, and a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law. Around the same time, she was involved in impactful research at the Consumer Policy Research Centre in Melbourne, where she laid the groundwork for Dark Patterns Lab. Prior to deciding to move to Australia, she worked as a commercial litigation lawyer in India and was the host of The Audacity Project, a podcast on feminism and gender equity.
