Founded by Ruqqaiyah (Ruqi) & Omer Nazeer, CABARO is a direct-to-consumer brand creating high quality Swiss Automatic Watches and functional leather goods in the luxury space.
Prior to joining the Accelerator program in 2017, CABARO launched their first product the Swiss Mechanical Watch via a successful Kickstarter campaign where they raised over $100,000 in 30 days. The company’s business model challenges the status quo by offering unique, high quality luxury watches and leather goods which are accessible and affordable for consumers, and remove the intermediaries and inflated price margins which are often built into the traditional luxury accessory industry.
Since their launch, CABARO have delivered their watches to over 300 cities in 32 countries and counting, and are currently working on their next line of functional leather goods which will be launching online soon.
Ruqi is the co-founder of CABARO - the dreamer and thinker managing everything between factories to consumers. Although I come from an engineering background, I’ve run little businesses since I was 20 - nothing serious then! Like many engineering graduates, my goal was very simple - to join a global company and have a smashing career. I joined Unilever, worked for 2 years in Supply Chain, this helped me get a holistic view of the end to end operations required to run a successful company. It was only after I moved to Melbourne in 2016 that I got seriously invested in entrepreneurship. I like to think my knack for building and designing got me started with CABARO.
